Job Overview: Provide support for the Domestic Abuse Advocacy team.

Employment Status:  Regular, full-time, non-exempt position

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Answer the WomenSV DV Helpline for first line support for survivors

  • Conduct pre-intake assessments

  • With Executive Assistant, assist with managing the schedules/calendars for the Executive Directors and Domestic Violence Advocates, including making appointments, sending out client appointment reminders and support group reminders and details.

  • Take notes during survivor intake meetings

  • Maintain client data in case management system, ensure regular backups are performed and key stakeholders are receiving data when needed. Run reports for grants and other purposes as needed.

  • Provide logistical assistance for weekly support group: send invitations to presenters and attendees; manage RSVPs; oversee the Chat; record attendance; distribute follow up materials, as appropriate

  • Coordinate the distribution of equipment and materials to survivors

  • Become familiar with a broad range of resources and providers and build contacts to grow the network of resources and providers for WomenSV

  • Identify areas for process improvement

Minimum Qualifications:

  • B.S./B.A. degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience in social work, business or related field

  • At least two years of office administration/management/operations experience and duties related to day-to-day process management and operations 

  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint

  • Familiarity with managing virtual meetings and webinars

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to self-manage, multi-task, be resourceful, flexible and able to adjust priorities in a dynamic business environment

  • Experience as an effective partner and team member

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to practice reflective listening, empathy, offer support and validation

  • Willingness to take direction and accept feedback

  • Genuine interest in and desire to support the work and mission of WomenSV 

  • Self-care and self-regulation skills to deal with hard stories of abuse of adults, children, and pets

  • If a survivor, at least two years out of the relationship

Desired Qualifications:

  • Completion of 40-65 hour California Domestic Violence Advocacy training certification program or willingness to complete before start date

  • Experience working with client/customer databases (i.e. Salesforce CMS products)

  • Trauma-informed understanding of domestic abuse and its impact on survivors

  • Prior experience working with victims of intimate partner abuse

  • Familiarity with the impact of abuse on survivors in middle-to-upper income areas

  • Experience with Zoom

  • Experience in a nonprofit environment

  • Experience with social media

  • Familiarity with Squarespace/website management

  • Familiarity with Mailchimp/digital marketing platforms
